Amazing

Review Date: March 27, 2009
Reviewer: spin_nin, Chicago, Illinois United States
Sony TV's have always had great picture quality and this set is no exception. Right out of the box its practically perfect - not much adjustment needed. I used Avia and it was almost spot on already. The "brown" color is hardly noticeable and allowed for a substantial savings.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a 32 inch TV. There is nothing better than Sony in an LCD flat panel display. All the connections you could ever want.

Like I said....AMAZING

While not the top of the line, this LCD has gorgeous definition and picture quality. Completely satisfied with the product.
Brown? More like Dark Grey

Review Date: February 12, 2009
Reviewer: Nedfp, Vienna, VA USA
First of all, I bought this from J&R Music's shop on Amazon. It was on sale for about $150 cheaper than the black, red or white versions. I guess the idea of "brown" scared people away, and they had to dump inventory.

Anyway, the unit is to be placed in a fruitwood entertsainment center, so "brown" wouldn't be noticable. The unit arrives in less than 5 days, and I thought they sent a black unit. My wife and daughter could not see the "brown" as I described it. It is more of a contrasting dark grey over the speakers and on a part of the stand that you will never see. The color is lost if seen over 3 ft away. Take the savings, buy it!

Color and sound are excelent. Picture is equal to the Samsung ln32a450 it replaced. Sound is noticably better. HD is where it shines, SD is acceptable when viewing 10 feet away. I am using the QAM clear on HD cable and very happy with my "free" HD. I will set up through HD FIOS TV next week, but expect same great results.

Save your money, go 720p on this 32", buy it in brown, use the savings to upgrade to HD Cable, Sat or FIOS. SD is dead.
Nice TV set

Review Date: February 2, 2009
Reviewer: TV lover, New Jersew
It's very attractive TV. I love it. There is 2 things, I'm not comfortable with. First, Amazon listed and sells this TV set as "white". It's only small white trim on a bottom & on the top. It should say "WHITE TRIM", instead of white TV. The other things is that, the sound of any program always delayed. It's like the program starts with big sign of BRAVIA, across the TV set, you hear the sound, than all of the sudden, it's black screen and no sound for few seconds, till the program starts.
Great Television with a few caveats 4.5

Review Date: February 1, 2009
Reviewer: R. Phillips, MS USA
This television has an amazing picture on the HD channels. I'm not sure it can get much better than this, if at all. It will blow you away. The sound is good and clear and the remote and setup is simple. I did have to go through the auto setup a couple of times before it got all my channels - I get cable and satellite so that may have had something to do with it. That may also have to do with the picture being pretty grainy on some of the cable channels that are not HD. All the satellite channels look good so that is why I think it may be because of both signals coming in together. One thing I want you to know is that it really did not look the same as it comes across in the photograph with this listing. I bought this in the brown and I thought it was going to have a similar appearance and casing color as the touch of color televisions do, but it is nothing like that. The color is more on the metal below the casing than on the casing around the tv. It in no way enhances the picture and you really hardly notice it at all in the brown. The color on this one was a little disappointing because it is not a brown that you really see in contrast to the black. However, I got it for a great price. It was shipped and packaged well and quickly. And the picture quality is really amazing.

Sony Bravia TV

Review Date: July 1, 2010
Reviewer: george,
Great TV. I would definately buy this again. Picture is fantastic and sound is really clear.
Great TV for Medium Size Room!

Review Date: June 14, 2010
Reviewer: J. Ross, Jackson, TN
I bought this TV 2 years ago and have been very happy with it! It is HD 720p (actually 768 but the rating is 720)The picture quality is excellent. If you don't have HD programming, you don't want to go with a 1080p TV, the picture quality will not be the greatest. The picture quality on this one is great with standard definition TV through Dish Network or AT&T Uverse. The picture quality of it when playing dvd's through our upconvert DVD player is magnificent. The 32" Size is great for our purpose. The room we have it in is 19'x19' with the TV on top of the mantle. When we had our couch about 6' out from the wall in the back the screen size is perfect. When the couch is back against the wall it leaves us wishing we had one a little bit bigger as the writing in some of the on-sceen menu's for the TV service are a little harder to read. So if your TV will be closer than 13-14' from where you sit, it is the perfect size.

The speakers on the TV are better than most flat screen TV speakers I have heard and I used to work at BestBuy so I have heard alot of them. It plays good high sound and even has a little bit of bass without distorting. The sound quality is actually much better right around the half volume area and you can notice a significant difference in the quality between "vol.48-60" giving the best quality. The sound fills our 19'x19' room pretty good. It's by far no surround sound but gives a good clear sound with no distortion.
Sound Died After 1 Year

Review Date: January 31, 2010
Reviewer: G. Parks,
We have purchased Sony TV's for years. After 1 year and a month the sound on this TV just suddenly died. Went thru all the menu settings to make sure everything was set properly per owners manual and online support with Sony. End result is that I need to take TV in for service. In my opinion a TV that has a problem this early is probably low quality. I will not spend money to get a repair because I do not trust the quality of the TV. Instead, I will just use the cash I would have spent on repair toward the price of a new TV. Once I have a bad experience with a product I no longer buy it. No second chances with me.
will die on you

Review Date: January 9, 2010
Reviewer: not happy,
My family and I have been buying Sony products for years, which is why this was the obvious choice when I needed a TV for my bedroom. The TV had no problems what so ever for the first year. But one day, 13 months after I had bought it (which is one month after the warranty expired) I turned on my TV to find vertical colorful stripes that would slowly appear on the screen. I talked to Sony, and all they could do was give me a number to a repair shop since my TV was no longer under warranty. It's very frustrating that they have no obligation to fix my defective set. I understand that most of the reviews here are favorable probably because it hasn't been over a year yet.
1080p sold as 720p. Your gain, I'm serious. Sony forgot.

Review Date: November 26, 2009
Reviewer: Nick,
First of all, this TV DOES display 1080p images. It may be marketed as a 720p, but the manufacturer forgot to block the "display" setting from telling you what kind of image is showing, which ranges from NTSC to 1080p. Just press the "display" button in the remote. So having said that, THIS TV IS AMAZING FOR THE PRICE. Thanks Sony.

I like this tv a lot. The picture quality is amazing when connected to my playstation 3. It still surprises me after a year of having it, since its almost like looking through a window into the games or movies.
Games such as Bioshock, Dead Space, Dirt and movies such as Wall-e and the Watchmen look incredible. Regular NTSC channels look like crap, since the tv enhances the detail so much you have to make some adjustments to "tone it down".
You go to the "sharpness" and "noise" settings and adjust them. They won't adjust themselves. I put the sharpness to the lowest and noise setting to its highest and NTSC channels look fine.

It has 3 preset-adjustable picture settings: vivid, custom and standard.

The speakers deliver crisp sound, but obviously they don't have a bass punch. You will need to connect a separate set of speakers for powerful bass, but the tv's are powerful enough for a room and they volume is loud at 30 where I usually have it. It goes up to a 100 but I've never used it once, don't need to.

It has an optical-out connection that you can connect to a theater sound system for crisp digital signal.
I don't know what the big deal with the black colors is, if they wash out or not. They're just black, and if you want blacker just adjust the brightness and the backlight settings. simple.
I did notice that the backlight leaks a little at the higher right corner when the screen is black, but is not a huge problem. You can adjust it.

I do have a problem with not being able to discard all the analog channels, and just keep the digital ones. You can't discard any channel for that matter, and they're all programmed together.
The favorist list is pretty bad too. You can favorite 10 channels, but you can't organize them or delete the ones you already added. You just sort of push them off the bottom of the list with a new channel which is pretty time consuming and stupid.

It has 2 HDMI inputs, and about 3 analog video inputs. 1 pc input which I haven't used.

This TV doesn't have many features, aside from adjusting the colors. But again, its a Sony, and the picture quality is great. If people want many secondary features, they probable should pay double the price and get the more expensive Sony.
I have yet to have a sony product break on me, and this tv will probably last several years, hopefuly.

AVOID THIS TV (and Samung Products in general)!

Review Date: July 7, 2010
Reviewer: A. Burns,
I purchased this TV on 11/24/2008, Amazon shipped it on 11/25/2008, and Samsung said the TV was manufactured on 11/30/2008. I was happily using this TV for 584 days, until the screen suddenly washed out and went photo-negative. There are SEVERAL other commentators who have also had this problem, yet Samsung doesn't acknowledge it as a "known issue". There is a video on youtube describing and documenting this issue.

To sum up why you should avoid this TV (if not this brand):
Here's a list of others experiencing the same issue:

Avoid this TV, and after attempting to deal with Samsung I'd recommend avoiding them as well.
Garbage, literally, after 18 months.

Review Date: June 27, 2010
Reviewer: J. feuling, minnesota
Sound was always horrible--had to add speakers. The picture was good, but now there is no picture. Just a white screen.

If reviews were written down the line, instead of right after purchase, it would help more people. A $700 TV, garbage after 18 months! Ironically, I researched like mad before buying this.

When it comes to electronics, I guess a one-year warranty is standard but it shouldn't be. We live in an expensive, disposable world. Now, I'll have to pay to bring it to a recycling center, to add injury to insult.
White Screen/Photo Negative/Night Vision Problem

Review Date: June 19, 2010
Reviewer: J. P. Kelleher,
We're having this issue: [...] Google and youtube turn up others who also have this problem.

Local repair guy reports that the problem is a circuit board that is internal to the panel (i.e. the screen) touching a metal part of the inside of the panel. Other HDTVs have spacers around the circuit board to keep this from happening. This TV does not.

I would strongly advise against buying this TV.
Disappointed with the TV durability!

Review Date: June 11, 2010
Reviewer: A. Palekar,
I bought this model in Jan 2009 for its apparent picture quality. For an year I had no issues with the picture/sound quality. It worked like a charm. The picture was crisp and colors were vibrant.

Just after over an year it I started seeing issues with the display where I kept seeing photo-negative like images on the screen. Its as if the TV knew to wait till the warranty expires ;-) This started as a temporary issue and used to go away after shaking the screen every time I start the TV. As if that was annoying enough one day even the shaking stopped working. Now my TV screen looks like a photo negative image. I contacted Samsung and they would fix it for a hefty sum. I am really disappointed by the quality especially since I bought it for the same reason. This really reduces my trust in the Samsung brand. I would stay away from this model. Heck, youtube even has a video of the exact same problem someone else is facing for the same model. Search for "samsung lcd tv photo negative".
Samsung HD TV

Review Date: April 15, 2010
Reviewer: Larry J. Hacker, SW Missouri
I did a lot of research before buying, but honestly am NOT overly proud of this TV. The picture is good but the SOUND is pitiful. I had to buy a surround system to get anything remotely decent in the sound department from it. If you buy this (or probably many other models) check out the sound and PLAN on also having to buy a surround system with it.

Love this TV

Review Date: July 3, 2010
Reviewer: Anita, San Diego, CA
I researched and contemplated buying an HDTV for years before finally buying this one. It has a spectacular picture that can be viewed from just about any angle. I don't use high-tech stuff so I can't address any of that, but I'm very happy with the picture and sound. The "touch of red" is very subtle and I don't even notice it unless I look for it. It was also very easy to set-up (did it myself).
Lovely TV

After reading numerous reviews over the past few months, I finally pulled the trigger and bought this baby along with the Samsung 52". Both arrived promptly and in perfet condition. Hookup was a breeze and my family was extremely happy with the picture particular my husband who "lives and breathes" ESPN.

Product Description

Sony Bravia L-Series HDTVs provide vivid 720p resolution and dynamic contrast ratios of 13,000:1 (the 26-inch model) and 13,000:1 (for 32-inch model), with several versatile sizes perfect for the budget-conscious consumer or anyone wanting an HDTV that works well in the bedroom, kitchen, or office. Bravia L-Series HDTVs have a wealth of HD connections, including three HDMI inputs. Each HDMI input transmits uncompressed digital video and multi-channel digital audio on a single cable, so you can expand your home theater system without a lot of messy wires. Also included is a PC input that lets you use your HDTV as a computer monitor. If you need to streamline your HD components further, the Bravia L-Series HDTVs feature Bravia Sync technology and are compatible with optional Bravia Link Modules such as the Bravia Wireless Link, which wirelessly streams HD video and audio from your A/V equipment to your HDTV from up to 65 feet away. You might expect that more features mean more power consumption, but Bravia L-Series HDTVs include a Dynamic Backlight Control which automatically controls overall image brightness to help the TV exceed ENERGY STAR 3.0 standards.

KIT INCLUDES:
* SONY DVD PLAYER.
* FLAT SCREEN WALL MOUNT.
* HDMI-HDMI CABLE.
* MICROFIBER CLOTH.
